Watch repair
Batteries, bands and servicing
The small job that gets someone through the door for the first time.
What this covers
Nobody plans a dead watch
Paris Jewellers publicly lists watch repair and battery replacement. It is the smallest ticket in the shop and probably the most important one, because it is how a customer finds out you exist.
Someone whose watch died this morning is looking for two things: can you do it, and can you do it now. Neither is currently answerable without ringing. Putting the answers in writing turns a phone call into a visit.
- Battery replacement
- Band sizing and adjustment
- Watch servicing
The two things they want to know
Both are blank because I have nothing from you, and both would take you thirty seconds to answer:
- Battery price — $?
- Is it done while you wait — ?
- Do you reseal water-resistant cases — ?
- Do you take mechanical or automatic servicing — ?
- Any makes you will not work on — ?
"Watch batteries while you wait, $?" is the kind of line that fills a slow Tuesday.
